Privacy Policy
Amara Magazine (“Amara”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect
Submissions. When you submit a wedding, vendor profile, or advertisement, we collect the names, contact details, imagery, and story details you provide so our editorial team can review and, if accepted, publish them.
Accounts & subscriptions. If you create a reader account or subscribe, we store your email address and the status of your subscription so we can give you access to gated issues.
Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers — Stripe handles card data under its own security and privacy terms. We retain a record of the transaction (amount, date, and a payment reference) for accounting and fraud prevention.
Newsletter. If you join our list, we keep your email address to send issue announcements and editorial notes. You can unsubscribe from any email.
Usage data. Like most websites we collect basic technical information (such as device, browser, and pages viewed) to keep the site secure and improve it.
How we use your information
To review and publish submissions; to operate subscriptions and reader access; to process payments; to send communications you have requested; to respond to enquiries; to maintain the security and integrity of the service; and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Amara — including Stripe (payments), our email provider, our hosting and storage providers — and where required by law.
Published content
Material accepted for publication (wedding features, vendor spotlights, and advertisements) is intended to be public. Please only submit imagery and details you have the right to share and are comfortable seeing published.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, use our contact form.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure forms. See our Legal & Cookies page for more.
